Yes, the lavender fields are lovely if you visit at the peak of bloom (which is a short window), but the charming, rustic feel I was expecting has been suffocated by commercial excess. Every single shop, cafe, and market stall is aggressively selling a lavender-themed product. Lavender ice cream, lavender syrup, lavender gin, lavender soap, lavender everything.
This intense commercial focus makes the entire village feel less like a historic Hungarian gem and more like a pop-up souvenir stand.
If you want to even experience the lavender, be prepared to pay.
