What Travellers Say
Reviews Summary
Visitors praise the Miskolctapolca Cave Bath for its unique natural setting and affordable prices, calling it a 'truly amazing place' and a 'hidden gem'. However, many warn of significant overcrowding, especially on weekends, which can detract from the experience. Some also note the lack of clear communication regarding potential closures.
"Disappointed. The caves have been closed for quite a while, yet there’s still no information about it on the official website. I planned a full-day train trip from Budapest and only found out at the entrance. Many others were misled the same way. 2 points for the greedy. You must inform your visitors — if you prefer to stay silent, then shame on you."

"We spend our free time in the cave bath at the beginning of June 2024. We had a great time and enjoyed the stay here. It is a nice experience and we would like to visit this place again in the future. Firstly, we were here on Thursday in the morning, which was perfect because the whole bath was just for us - it was empty, peaceful and really nice. HOWEVER, when we visited the place on Saturday, it was literally overcrowded and we decided to leave earlier, because the cave bath is too small for so many people and it gets chaotic. So, it is worth visiting, BUT come only in the morning during working days and off season... than you'll have a nice experience. :-)"

"We drove here from UK on motorbike, all in all it was a nice couple of hours
First, the park is a green zone, parking was 8 euros, it was only around 10 pounds entrance free, very cheap
The water in the cave is 30oc it feels cool, but is ok, the pools next to cave is 35oc, walking around is very cold.
Get there 9am,otherwise it's a long queue, the cave and pools are very noisy with lots of children
But it's a unique experience"

Visitors can explore various pools, some deeper for swimming and others shallower for relaxation. The natural acoustics and the cool, damp air within the caves create an otherworldly bathing experience that sets it apart from conventional thermal spas.
