Reviews Summary
Demjen Cave Bath offers a unique and atmospheric experience with its cave pools and adventure slides. Visitors appreciate the special ambiance and the variety of attractions available. However, some guests have noted that facilities, particularly changing rooms and showers, are basic and show signs of wear, and that not all attractions may be operational outside of peak season, leading to concerns about value for money.
"I'm not sure what date the "high season" ends but we came to visit this place on 28th September. We paid the full price. The cave pools were very nice and atmospheric, but most of the water features were turned off. Only 2-3 slides were working in the adventure area. The outside had only 3 pools working. The ones that closed were not even drained, but left overgrowing with green algae and with a dead bird floating in them which looked pretty disgusting. The changing room facilities were falling apart, the showers are so basic, there is no shower head but a low pressure sprinkler, rusty soap dishes, broken locks and lights in some of the changing cabins, melted hair dryer that no one cared to replace. For the highest priced fürdő entry ticket in the area you'd expect a little bit more care, it can't take much work to check and repair these small things. And please fish out that dead bird from the pool outside. Looks like they just want to milk the tourists off their money and invest nothing.
Tip: Remember to bring cash - 2000 HUF per person to use as deposit for the wristband tag."

The Unique Cave Bath Experience
However, it's important to manage expectations. While often compared to the cave baths in Miskolc Tapolca, some visitors feel Demjen is more akin to a 'cellar' bath, suggesting it might not have the same scale or natural cave formations. Despite this, the overall experience is still considered awesome by many.
When planning your visit, consider that the operational status of various water features, including slides and some outdoor pools, can be dependent on the season. To ensure you experience everything the bath has to offer, it's advisable to visit during the peak summer months or confirm the operational status of attractions beforehand.
Maintenance and Facility Conditions
This lack of upkeep has led some guests to feel that the facility is in a 'state of decay' and that the pricing doesn't reflect the condition. There have been instances of attractions being turned off, and even unpleasant sights like algae-covered pools with debris.
While the unique cave environment is a major draw, potential visitors should be aware of these maintenance issues. It's possible that during peak season, more attention is paid to upkeep, but off-peak visits might reveal these shortcomings more prominently.
