Taking more reference photos for upcoming paintings. Every time I am at this wonderful caffe I get the muse to paint. If you visit Budapest, I recommend to come here, it’s a small caffe in the middle of the city, between 2 theaters, owned by 2 couples. 😍 #referencephoto #cafeinbudapest #budapest #artcafe

Reviews Summary

Visitors praise Mai Manó House for its significant contribution to Budapest's photography scene and its beautiful historical architecture. It's a highly recommended spot for art lovers and those interested in visual history. Some visitors note that the cafe can be a bit small, but its charm is undeniable.

"The space open to the public is quite limited. The building interior decoration is interesting, but not rare. The entry price is €9 (HUF3,600) per person. This is a bit on the high side for such a place. Unless there is an exhibition on display which you are interested in, the price is not worth the visit to this building."

Raphael Axiak

"Overrated, left very much underwhelmed. It’s an extremely small exhibition space, so it can be done in 10mins, not worth the entrance fee of 2000Ft. (Wonder why a piece in Marble and Steel in eyes nose and mouth shape is being placed in a photography gallery). The building itself (as per other reviews) isn’t that special, just another run-down building in Budapest, I’ve seen better ones way more beautiful, with or without maintenance. The receptionists were not very welcoming.

Save that money for House of Horror (the installation art was quite impressive) or Museum of Fine Arts, Budapest."

Winnie Chow

"Currently exhibiting the photographic works of Roger Ballen. I have included some of the explanatory script as well as photos of his work to help people decide on whether to visit.
I'm quite intrigued by the way his work had developed from a purely photographic and descriptive production, that needs no further explanation, as in his 1970s "Boyhood" publication, to something darker, deeper and allegorical (including performance art) in his latest 21st Century production "Roger the Rat""
