What Travellers Say
Reviews Summary
Visitors praise Lukács Baths for its authentic, local atmosphere and medicinal waters, offering a more relaxed experience than the bustling Szechenyi or Gellért. The unique Beer Spa and affordable entry, especially with a Budapest Card, are significant draws. However, some find the facilities a bit dated compared to newer baths, and the requirement for swim caps in certain areas can be an inconvenience.
"I went to these baths because I had read online that they were less touristy and mostly visited by locals. I would recommend them to anyone looking for a more authentic and less touristy experience. The facilities are very clean and simple, and I really enjoyed my time there."

"Best Spa experience in Budapest.
Lukacs is not as popular as the other two spas in town. But it looks equally beautiful.
Mainly locals people here, so it’s not as crowded, you can enjoy the spa properly.
They also have sauna world, it’s not for everyone especially for female, as there are lots of naked men, but as a female who doesn’t want to be nude, there is also option too.
Very great experience so far. Would love to go back again.
Staff are very friendly , helpful and nice.
The place is beautiful and historical.
My skin was very sensitive, after only the one visit, my skin healed!
Some say their thermal water has the most medical benefits"

"If you come with the right expectations, you won’t be disappointed. We wanted to experience the Hungarian spa feeling, and for that, this place was perfect. Other bathhouses in the city only offer day passes at a very high price, whereas here you can spend 3 hours for €15, which is absolutely fine.
It’s no comparison to, for example, German thermal spas — that’s something you need to be aware of beforehand! Hygiene and other standards are different here. There’s a sulfuric smell, everything is a bit run-down, and the different areas aren’t exactly inviting. So we didn’t achieve complete relaxation during our visit, but it was interesting to see it once.
The indoor pools are rather murky, and many locals spend a lot of time there. We found the outdoor pool a bit more inviting, but we didn’t stay longer than 2 hours in total. The beer spa is more of a thing for bachelor parties…"
