What Travellers Say
Reviews Summary
Visitors praise the Xiqu Centre for its stunning architecture and the accessible introduction to Cantonese opera offered by the Tea House Theatre Experience. The venue is lauded for its cultural significance and its role in the vibrant West Kowloon Cultural District. Some find the opera itself an acquired taste, but the presentation is generally well-received.
"Interesting architecture. The Grand Theatre interior was beautiful; seats are comfortable and generously spaced. The acoustic is also not bad.
The main entrance is hugely open to the outside without a gate/door so that area could get hot and humid in summer days like now.
Directly connected to the Austin Station so it’s very convenient if taking the train. Bathrooms are nice and clean. Haven’t been to the shops and restaurants yet so can’t comment on those."

It’s easy to spend a relaxing moment there, soaking in the fusion of tradition and modernity, even without attending a performance.

"A lovely construction. Don’t miss if you visit Hong Kong. Catch a show or just hang out in the building where there are open spaces for everyone. I watched an afternoon show and was able to use the public transportation easily."
