What Travellers Say
Reviews Summary
Lido Beach is praised for its clean sand, clear water, and tranquil atmosphere, offering a peaceful escape with impressive bridge views. While access involves many steps and facilities are basic, its uncrowded nature and convenient public transport make it a worthwhile visit for relaxation and photography.
"One of the easiest beaches to get public transport to, but there are a LOT of steps to get down to access the beach. Slope from the road is quite steep. Maybe don't bring too much when you come here. An airport bus line and several other buses have stops here, with one arriving about every 10 minutes or so.
I think you can also access the park west of the beachfront from some sort of promenade running along the side of the bay, but I didn't venture too far from beneath Ting Kau bridge as it was a bit hot out at the time.
The beach sand was nice and fine grained (to me 🤷), water quality at the time of visit was clear enough and quite cold even though it was a warm day. Lots of cool and interesting stones were on the beach as a typhoon had just passed that brought up debris to the shore, but the cleaning staff were quite good at maintaining the place, just a bit of rubbish left when I went.
Bring food when you go in case the snacks shop is closed. There's drinking water and a juice vending machine at the site to keep hydrated, so you won't have to lug drinks down the stairs from the road. Showers and bath amenities are a bit dated, but clean and functional all the same.
I would say that this beach is a great little place and I'd love to visit it again"
