Reviews Summary

Visitors praise the Hong Kong Film Archive for its extensive collection and dedication to preserving cinematic history. It's a must-visit for film buffs, offering a deep dive into Hong Kong's iconic movie legacy through exhibits and screenings. Some visitors note that checking the schedule in advance is crucial to make the most of their visit.

"The Hong Kong Film Archive is a nice place to visit if you’re a fan of HK Cinema.

There’s a permanent exhibition in the lobby commemorating the former Queen’s Theatre. The projector is very interesting!

There is also an exhibition space that has different exhibits each season."

Rich Loffman

"It's a tiny museum, I came here for a screening. Great movie but the terrible audience manner was a nightmare. I'm not sure if the general audience here are 95% elderly or I was just unlucky. The elderly who sat right beside me.. the one on my left kept picking things from her face then flicked away with her fingers throughout the whole time!! Another one to my right sat with his legs spread so widely that he should've bought the ticket of my seat. The worst of all.. the mysterious disgusting scents that kept appearing every 3 mins.. my god."

Haynes C.

"Tiny and focused only on comedy films (which are played without English subtitles). Not worth travelling for, especially given that it's a bit of a trek from the nearest train station."
