What Travellers Say
Reviews Summary
Visitors praise the Museo Numismático del Banco Central as a hidden gem, particularly for its impressive private art collection and historical numismatic displays. The free admission and informative guided tours are frequently highlighted as major positives, offering a valuable cultural experience. Some minor points include adherence to bank hours and potential limitations on lingering at exhibits.
"This is a must visit museum in Honduras. The part about money is what you'd expect (well, except that it starts with cacao). But the art collection is the real reason to come. In the national gallery of art they only have pieces from after 1980. If you want to trace the development of the art, you need to go to the Numismatic museum which has a private art collection with great art from the whole history of the country. But be aware it keeps bank hours so not open on the weekend"
