What Travellers Say
Reviews Summary
Visitors praise Schinias Marathon National Park for its beautiful, uncrowded sandy beach, tranquil pine forests, and stunning natural scenery. The shallow waters are ideal for swimming, and the park offers a peaceful escape. However, some note the lack of amenities like toilets and showers in many areas, suggesting visitors come prepared.
"The southern edge of Schinias National Park is formed by a cape called Kynosoura, or the "dog's tail" peninsula. There is a rough and rocky but navigable trail along its ridge, marked occasionally with painted dots and stretching about 2km from the road to the highest point. Due to the terrain it took us nearly 2 hours to reach the top, where there is a metal cross planted. Besides the unique views of the area and occasional wildflowers, the area is fairly inhospitable and seems to be rarely visited. It's too steep to access the water and there are no other amenities."

"Amazing sea and nature. Always possible to find some shade under the trees. It's a big sandy beach with shallow waters. A small part of the beach has a beach bar. The most of the place is natural. Take your water, food and umbrella with you."

"Nice place, not crowded. Beautiful landscape and beach, spectacular pines and nature.
Beware - no toilets and no showers."
