What Travellers Say
Reviews Summary
Visitors rave about the Pylos Waterfront Promenade for its stunning natural beauty, particularly the breathtaking sunsets over Pylos Bay. The area offers a perfect blend of relaxation and luxury, with excellent dining options and friendly service. Some find the prices for food and activities within the resorts to be high, and the quality of certain amenities like bath towels could be improved for a luxury experience.
"We had a wonderful stay at the W hotel in Costa Navarino this summer. Would highly recommend and will be back!
As a couple without children we found it to be the perfect location for a relaxing getaway on the Greek mainland. We were able to drive from Athens and be relaxing by the beach with a great cocktail within a few hours.
The restaurants offered by the hotel and the wider Costa Navarino complex give plenty of variety. The room was modern and always very clean.
The service was fantastic no matter where you interacted with staff. Dimitris Zormpas was especially helpful and made us feel very welcome at the hotel from the moment we arrived."

"We have just returned from a wonderful stay at a great location. The staff are very friendly and helpful and the rooms were great. The breakfast was very good with lots of variety. The pools were lovely and we had no trouble finding a sunbed to rest on. Massage was great (although a bit expensive). Downsides - Food and drinks are very expensive and poolside cocktails were disappointing. Had these been cheaper and better, we would have ordered more. Also disappointed that there was little in the way of local Greek food available on the menu. Bath towels in rooms are very small and hard - for a luxury hotel I would expect large soft towels in the room. Bath robes also small and hard. Water activities also too expensive to enjoy - 40 euro an hour for a sit in top kayak is ridiculous! If this had been more reasonable we would have hired these and our stay would have been even better."

"I had a fantastic stay at W Costa Navarino. My sea-view room was stunning — the view alone made the trip. Breakfasts were abundant with lots of variety, and I loved having so many restaurant options both in the resort and at Navarino Agora.
I tried the spa and gym, both excellent experiences. I couldn’t enjoy the pool and beach due to the October weather, but that just gives me a great reason to come back in summer.
The atmosphere throughout the hotel was relaxed and stylish, and the staff were consistently friendly and helpful. Overall, a refreshing and memorable stay — highly recommend!"

Exploring the Costa Navarino Complex
Within Costa Navarino, you'll find the Navarino Agora, a vibrant marketplace that serves as a central hub for dining, shopping, and entertainment. It's a great place to sample local delicacies, find unique souvenirs, and enjoy the lively atmosphere. The complex also boasts multiple golf courses, spas, and water sports facilities, catering to a variety of interests.
While the luxury resorts offer a curated experience, many visitors appreciate the ability to venture out and explore the natural beauty and historical sites surrounding Pylos. The promenade itself provides a more relaxed, public-facing experience that complements the resort offerings.
Culinary Delights of Pylos
Beyond seafood, the region is known for its excellent olive oil, local cheeses, and seasonal produce. Don't miss trying Kalamata olives, which are famous worldwide. Many restaurants also feature traditional Peloponnesian dishes, offering a taste of authentic Greek home cooking. The Navarino Agora within the Costa Navarino complex provides a more diverse culinary landscape, with restaurants offering international cuisine alongside Greek specialties.
While the food is generally excellent, some reviews mention that food and drinks within the luxury resorts can be quite expensive, and poolside cocktails might not always meet expectations. For a more budget-friendly and authentic experience, exploring the local tavernas away from the main resort areas is highly recommended.
Best Times for Photography
Sunset is particularly spectacular, with the sky often erupting in hues of orange, pink, and purple. The reflections on the calm waters of Pylos Bay add an extra layer of magic to your shots. Many visitors find themselves drawn to the promenade specifically to witness and photograph this daily spectacle.
For a more tranquil experience and different photographic opportunities, consider visiting in the early morning. The soft morning light is perfect for capturing the details of the harbor, the fishing boats, and the awakening town. Midday can be harsh for photography due to direct sunlight, but it's still a good time for capturing the bright blues of the sea and sky.
