Reviews Summary

Visitors find the Ancient Theater of Zea to be a significant historical remnant in Piraeus, offering a tangible connection to the 3rd century BC. Its proximity to the metro and the Piraeus Archaeological Museum are major advantages, providing a rich historical context. However, some note its urban setting can detract from the experience, and a deeper understanding requires effort.

"The ancient theater of Zea - Piraeus was built in the 3rd century BC (at the Macedonian era).
The site is 10 minutes walk from the piraeus metro station and can be viewed from Filellinon street (adjacent north of it).
But if you have time, the theater has direct connection with the Archaeological Museum of Piraeus and it is recomeneded to visit the museum (located on Char. Trikoupi 31).
The entrance to the museum costs 4 Euros, and except of the theater, you can view there beautiful exhibits from both the greek and the roman period."

"One of the few remnants of Ancient Greece you see in the City of Piräus."

Marc Remus

"An excellent archaeological site, literally drowned by multi-storey buildings, as a result of the poverty of that time, lack of urban planning, respect for our ancients.
It takes a lot of time for a serious visit to the archaeological site. And preparation, to understand exactly what we are seeing and their enormous value."
