What Travellers Say
Reviews Summary
Marcello Beach offers beautiful turquoise waters and a sandy shore, but the associated beach club can be very expensive and loud, with limited shade and a strong emphasis on reservations. While some enjoy the lively atmosphere, others find it detracts from a relaxing beach experience and recommend exploring more budget-friendly or tranquil options.
"Nice beach and easy access from the port by a little boat service that runs frequently at 9€ per person.
If you’re trying to keep costs down perhaps bring your towel and try a little shade beside some local trees (very little shade available) or your own umbrella.
Being an Australian who’s used to sandy beaches without rocks I can tell you that this has a great sandy beach area to walk, pebbles and large rocks in the water were no issue, waves also were minimal apart from when the large ferries arrive so keep your towel further from the water edge.
The bars/restaurants have a great vibe for singles and families however it may be a little pricey for some"

"Average beach club, but with mega service.
Unfortunately we didn't have a reservation, but the staff tried to find a solution, which they did.
The umbrellas were made of straw or similar material, so you couldn't move them. With time, unfortunately, the shade was also gone.
The sandy beach itself was beautiful.

"Today’s experience at Críos was a total disappointment. I've been coming here for years, and visiting the old Marcelo beach used to be my favorite part of the trip.
This year, after waiting in a long line, we were told that all the sunbeds were fully booked for the next three days unless we had a reservation. Instead, they offered us seats in the lounge area—for €40 per person!
The service was terrible, and the prices have nearly doubled. It feels like they’re trying to turn what was once a charming, laid-back spot into a high-end beach club like Nikki Beach. The atmosphere has completely changed, and not for the better."
