What Travellers Say
Reviews Summary
Gialiskari Beach is praised for its stunning natural beauty, crystal-clear shallow waters perfect for families, and peaceful, uncrowded atmosphere. Visitors appreciate the beautiful sandy shores and the opportunity to enjoy breathtaking sunsets. However, the challenging unpaved access road and the presence of insects like wasps and horseflies are noted drawbacks.
"This beach is located about 10 km from the nearest civilization. There is a wild road to this beach that is uphill and downhill, so it is very important not to drive fast for your safety and the safety of other road users. That road is not asphalted, it is strewn with small stones, and there are a lot of potholes on the road, so take care not to get into a situation because you can damage your vehicle. Off-road vehicles easily pass here and city cars whose profile is not lowered low. That worse part of the road leads directly to the beach and is about 2 km long. There is no natural shelter on this beach, so your vehicle will get very hot in the sun. A little further from the beach, you can find a tree that protects from the strong sun (of course, if that space is not occupied.) It is about 800 meters away. There is one lifeguard for swimmers on this beach. The beach is wide and sandy and has a large shallow area for all children and non-swimmers. There is enough space for beach sports and water sports. There is a bar with food and sunbeds with umbrellas. There is an outdoor changing room but no outdoor showers. There is enough space for vehicles to park in the unmaintained, non-charged sand parking lot. A really nice beach with a beautiful sunset and a view of Kefalonia. If you like a clean space on the beach where you can stick your umbrella, then there is a place for you too. It is very important that you are well equipped when you come to this beach because it is quite far from civilization. I also have to mention that there are a lot of wasps that love food and liquid and are very annoying and aggressive. There are also horseflies that bite. Sunscreen and allergy medicine are a must. Also bring bug spray."

This beach is accessible only by boat. It is a fantastic place to relax as there is peace and quiet. Landscape has lots of variety and it is stunning! You can go for snorkelling collect shells or explore the rocks. Having the whole place for yourself males the expreince unforgettable!"

"Beautiful sandy beach with crystal clear water. The water is shallow, suitable for children. There is a snack bar and sun loungers on the beach. Parking is available directly on the beach. The access road is not perfect, only gravel at the end, but a car can handle it without any problems and it is totaly worth it."
