"An Unforgettable Day Exploring the Ionian Gems: Blue Caves, Paxos & Antipaxos!
Our full-day tour to the Blue Caves, Paxos, and Antipaxos was truly a highlight of our trip to Corfu! The boat departed promptly at 8:30 AM and returned at 6:30 PM, making for a fantastic and well-paced adventure.
The journey itself was stunning, cruising along the beautiful Ionian Sea. The captain and crew were excellent – friendly, knowledgeable, and ensured everyone had a great time, often playing good music to set the mood!
First, we were absolutely mesmerized by the Blue Caves. Gliding into these sea grottos, the way the sunlight filtered through the water, creating that ethereal, shimmering blue glow, was simply breathtaking. It's a natural wonder that truly lives up to the hype, and we kept our eyes peeled for any glimpse of monk seals!
Next, we reached the paradise island of Antipaxos. We had a wonderful one hour dedicated to swimming in its incredibly clear, Caribbean-like waters. The beaches here, with their soft white sands and dazzling turquoise, were perfect for a refreshing dip and felt wonderfully tranquil.
Finally, we spent a generous two hours in Gaios, the charming capital of Paxos. It was the perfect amount of time to explore this picturesque village. We enjoyed strolling through the narrow streets, admiring the traditional architecture, and soaking in the relaxed atmosphere. There were plenty of lovely waterfront cafes and tavernas where we could have enjoyed a leisurely lunch or a refreshing drink. Some reviews also mentioned the opportunity for souvenir shopping, which was a nice bonus.
