Reviews Summary

Visitors consistently praise the Acropolis for its breathtaking historical significance and stunning city views, especially during sunset. The South Slope offers a wealth of often-overlooked ancient sites. However, be prepared for challenging terrain, potential heat, and the necessity of booking tickets in advance to avoid long waits.

"Hire a guide so as to understand what you're looking at, absolutely worth it. I recommend advance purchase of tickets, or your guide will provide, otherwise you're waiting in line for up to two hours to enter. I also recommend entering from South slope. Plan on three hours. Bring water"

Kimi

"We visited at 6pm, perfect time to see the sunset from the Parthenon. Very crowded but amazing, a must seen when in Athens. Walking around feels you are back in the days, you feel history on your skin. You also have an amazing view of the entity city"

Flavia D'Onofrio

"What an amazing experience at the Acropolis. We waited approximately 25 mins to enter at our ticket time. Once in, you can go at your own pace. The climb can be challenging as there is uneven paths and big steps on the slope. Once up, you have incredible views of Athens, and the Parthenon. Upon our descent we observed a tortoise on the slope. Overall it was an excellent experience. You can purchase tickets at the box office, or from the official Acropolis website. We found the south slope is generally less busier than the north slope from our experience."
