"Holy Church of Saint George of Lycabettus is a tiny white church perchs on top of the Lycabettus mount, that dates back to 1870.
Inside, although beautiful, but is in need of repair.
The courtyard offers panoramic view of the city, inlcuding the Acropolis and Saronic Gulf, and the islands beyond the water.
A few steps below is a restaurant."

"A beautiful and gorgeous church at the top of one of the highest peak in Athens. The church itself is very small, but is worth the trip up the mountain. Lots of history inside and you can make a donation and light a candle. We took the funicular up the mountain ($13 euros for round trip). There is also a gorgeous view of the city. We went around 1pm and it was quite hot; if you plan on walking to the top be prepared for the heat. There are also cafes and restaurants surrounding."
