What Travellers Say
Reviews Summary
Antiparos Castle is a unique historical settlement with a charming circular layout, offering a glimpse into island life. Visitors appreciate the peaceful mornings and picturesque alleys, though many note the castle's neglected state and occasional unpleasant odors. It's best viewed as a historical curiosity rather than a preserved monument.
"Nothing to see as the castle is closed and seems abandoned and in total disarray, used as a trash bin and cat litter box. People care more for the surrounding tourist shops that sell hardly anything authentic anyway. Hopefully it will get restored some day."
Dimitris Giannoulis
"Very neglected place.
The smell was unbearable to stand for more then few minutes.
This saying that being an architect I was determined to stand it all just to see the "castle" and the "settlement".
Otherwise "normal" people are not determined that much and with a good reason.
It's a shame and sad to see something kept in such a bad condition."
Nataliya LV MArch KONCEPT STUDIO
"A castle surrounded by the houses people live in, used as trash bin, not really anything you need to wander away to see. Better wander around the streets and/or the nearby beach. Might be ok someday, if restored."
