Reviews Summary

Visitors praise the Trier Archaeological Trail Antikenweg for its extensive and impressive collection of Roman artifacts, especially the stunning mosaics and well-preserved structures. The building itself is also noted as beautiful. However, some find the admission price a bit high, and the lack of English text on exhibit signage is a common point of feedback, making the audio guide essential. Reddit

"This museum excels in displaying and describing archaeological artifacts from the surrounding region. It boasts an extensive collection of Roman-era artifacts, setting it apart from most other archaeological museums in the area. The museum is clean, well-organized, and provides a complimentary audio guide. However, since most of the descriptions are in German, it’s advisable to use a device like Google Translate to understand them. Fortunately, the audio guide is available in English."

Michael Blair

"The museum is a very big and beautiful building in itself. The ticket price is affordable. The collection is extensive and very impressive. We are very happy that we have visited this place. The only thing that bothered us is that the lady who was giving directions at the entrance was not very friendly and the ticket person was also not so welcoming. The first impression was therefore not as good as it could have been. The museum made up for it by being very interesting and diverse and with a fascinating collection. The level of craftmanship and artistry of our ancestors is beyond your imagination. The museum also gave us a better context and understanding of the city of Trier. But a friendly welcome would have been the 5th star. It is so easy and costs nothing to give a smile and friendliness."
