"Sternwarte Stuttgart is open again. 2022 is the 100 year anniversary of the original observatory structure. The mechanical telescope inside the dome is 111 years old this year. I visited on April 16th, 2022 and was very pleased with the tour. There is a second modern (1989) telescope inside and third smaller telescope outside on the roof. Lukas, our 16-year old volunteer astronomer, gave us a quick lesson and then allowed our group of six adults to view various entities on all three telescopes. The admission price is 4 euro per adult. The building opened at 9pm. It was a full moon on a clear night and we loved the entire experience. Lukas explained partial moonlight is better for viewing stars and craters on the moon. I highly recommend a visit for families or a date night. Enjoy."
