What Travellers Say
Reviews Summary
Visitors consistently praise the vibrant atmosphere, diverse rides, and delicious food at Cannstatter Wasen. The lively beer tents and traditional music create an unforgettable festive experience. However, some find it can get extremely crowded, especially on weekends, and parking can be a hassle.
"It was a great festival with a fantastic atmosphere and amazing play areas! There were roller coasters and many other fun games for both adults and children. Plenty of food options and, of course, a lively beer garden! You can easily reach it from Stuttgart Central Station with the U11 or U2.
Cannstatter Wasen — see you next year! 🎡🍻"

"Great experience if you’re in Germany! Definitely gonna come back. Parking is accessible and if it’s busy there’s always more parking spots around."
Dayana Chavez Gonzalez
"If you're thinking about Oktoberfest, but are knocked over when you see the price of hotels that time of year, definitely consider Volksfest (Wasen). Oktoberfest is bigger, and for any given day livelier and more crowded, but you'll get home with a lot more of your money left over.
Trachten (traditional dress; lederhosen and dirndl) is slightly less commonplace at Wasen, so you won't be out of place whatever you wear - just don't wear "costume" Trachten. That'll mark you as a foreigner, and a disrespectful one at that.
Oh, and the festbeer is honestly better here than at Oktoberfest. And cheaper."
