What Travellers Say
Reviews Summary
Visitors praise Seebad Starnberg for its well-maintained facilities, direct lake access, and family-friendly amenities like the heated children's pool. It's considered a great leisure day trip from Munich, offering a clean environment and enjoyable water sports. However, be prepared for crowds on sunny August days, as sunbeds can run out quickly, and popular food items may be unavailable later in the day.
"Visited the Strandbad on an August Thursday. Was already quite busy at 11am. They were out of sunbeds to rent already (so make sure you bring yours or at least a picnic blanket). And yes, they do allow picnicing, you can bring whatever you want. The food kiosk served us well, so we had all that we needed (they offered amazing flammkuchen and bier). Okay, almost everything, they ran out of my favorite Helles beer by 13h :(
Other than that, the place looked very well maintained and clean.
The SUP station saw a lot of action with lessons and rentals, would definitely try this next time.
The lake water was refreshing temperature. We didn't miss having a pool.
By 16h there was a queue outside so I bet it gets even busier in the late afternoon.
Overall, a great leisure daytrip from Munich."
