What Travellers Say
Reviews Summary
The Goldbergturm is remembered fondly by locals for its past as a vibrant restaurant and viewing platform, a significant part of their childhood. While its current state as a functional radio tower with closed facilities evokes sadness for some, its enduring presence on the skyline remains a point of nostalgia.
"My wife and I both frequented the bar back in 1972, but never met. It wasn't until eleven years later that fate brought us together."

"The Goldberg Tower was our constant companion during my childhood and youth. Whether we were walking to school in the morning or fooling around in the evenings when we were younger, it was always with us. Back in the late 80s, my wife and I often went to the restaurant to eat schnitzel. It was always lovely to get a window seat there. The elevator ride up and the location were always unique. And the highlight at the end was always the view from the platform. I think it cost 50 Pfennings or 1 Mark back then. The last tenant of this restaurant was an Indian. What was once the landmark of Sindelfingen is now a dilapidated radio tower. This Goldberg Tower is defaced with antennas and other junk on the platform. The Goldberg Tower could speak volumes and tell countless stories, and yet it is being completely defaced. The people responsible who allowed this to happen should be ashamed of themselves. But these days all that matters is profit and gain, not old values, tradition and history. Just sad. You could cry at the sight of the Goldberg Tower. There is a short video of the Goldberg Tower on YouTube. Take a look at how dilapidated the tower is from the inside."

A Landmark's Evolution
However, the passage of time has seen the Goldbergturm transition from a beloved landmark to a more utilitarian structure. The restaurant and viewing platform are now closed, and the tower is adorned with antennas and other equipment, reflecting its current role as a functional radio tower. This transformation has led to a sense of melancholy for some, who lament the loss of its former glory and the perceived neglect of its historical significance.
