What Travellers Say
Reviews Summary
Visitors praise Zinnkopf for its magnificent, rewarding summit views of the Chiemgau region and Lake Chiemsee. The well-signposted trails and the option of the engaging Zinnkopf-Steig are appreciated. However, some find the ascent from Eisenärzt less scenic and potentially muddy due to machinery, leading one reviewer to call it the 'most boring mountain' in the region, despite the great views.
"This was a wonderful walk, I am so glad we chose to do it. The Zinnkopf is not widely publicised, probably as there is no catering at the top, but the walk up was well-signposted, the paths were good, and the views magnificent. At the top there are benches and plenty of space to enjoy the view. Do take lots of water and your own picnic!"

"From Eisenärzt, it's a relatively boring route along the forest road. The upper section is very damaged and muddy due to heavy machinery.
The "summit" invites you to linger.
It's worth doing once, but for me, it's probably the most boring mountain in the entire Chiemgau region."
Philip
"It is a beautiful tour with several climbing options. I chose the one from Eisenärzt at the hiking car park and up the well-developed and signposted forest road (walking time approx. 2.45) with a great overview of Chiemgau in the meantime. And then to the left of it there is the Zinnkopf-Steig, which is somewhat preferred over the paths with roots and “steps”. But also very exciting, especially with children who are a little older :) (Walking time 2 hours)
With that in mind, a great tour!! 🍀☀️"
