"The Salzstadel was the central building for overnight storage of the salt on the salt road from Bad Reichenhall to the West over the boarder at the Lech River. According to the reccords the salt hat to be stored for 3 nights in the city, was weighed and the toll was charged. Therefore the building providied stables for the horses and carriages - storage space for the salt and accomodation for the personal"
