What Travellers Say
Reviews Summary
Visitors rave about the Felsenbühne Rathen's breathtaking natural amphitheater and the spectacular, cinematic stage productions. The unique atmosphere and engaging shows, even for non-German speakers, are major highlights. However, some have noted disappointing sound quality and less-than-friendly ticket staff.
"I went to a few events here. From Winnetou as a kid to Carmina Burana and the Hunchback of Notre Dame more recently. Great venue! Must see!"
Felix Rudert
"Not much point going to watch a theatre performance in German if you're only a basic German speaker like me, however the venue is fantastic, nestled into the crook of a valley, with high rock al all sides, it's super atmospheric. The stage is also very large, which means the performances are quite cinematic, with horses galloping across, baddies abseiling in from the top & pyrotechnics, it's a great show. There were mostly families with kids there, I think that is the target audience, but I still had a good time."
Jason Thompson
"Great place to visit. Amazing structure which can be admired after a short stroll or a longer walk. Parking costs 3 euro for a passenger vehicle and 1.5euro for a motorbike."
