What Travellers Say
Reviews Summary
Visitors find Haus Sollbrüggen to be a well-maintained facility, particularly praising its beautiful park with impressive trees and ponds, and the charming courtyard café serving delicious waffles. While some note the façade's color change, the overall experience is highly recommended for a relaxing visit and a connection with nature.
"Haus Sollbrüggen, located in the park of the same name, houses the Krefeld Music School. Extensively expanded in recent years (including a concert hall), the façade facing Uerdinger Straße is now once again attractive. It's a shame that the original, stately sunny yellow color has been abandoned and the facade has been given a boring gray. Venture into the courtyard and, by all means, the small, quaint café, where you can sit comfortably and enjoy delicious waffles."

"Haus Sollbrüggen, with its truly impressive trees, shrubs, and ponds, is highly recommended. Krefeld has so many beautiful parks, and it's difficult for me to name the most beautiful. We visited several and combined at least two of them. For example, Schönhausen Park is only about 800 meters away. Then there's the castle park of Burg Linn and Schönwasser Park. All fantastic and each one more beautiful than the last. In my opinion, the Krefeld city administration deserves an A+."

"Sollbrüggen House is originally a medieval manor surrounded by moats, first mentioned in the 12th century. The estate burned down completely in 1781 and was rebuilt. The oldest surviving part of the building is the 18th-century gatehouse. The north and south wings date from the 19th century. In 1840, the house was rebuilt in the Neoclassical style, probably according to plans by Adolph von Vagedes, as a country estate for the silk manufacturer Peter de Greiff."
