"At the very entrance, there’s a mention of a swastika, and actual swastikas appear on the windows (see photo). The text claims the swastikas were placed in the windows in 1913, when the building was constructed, as a reference to the solstices (see photo). But everyone knows this was not their meaning in Germany in the early 20th century. This lack of historical context feels careless and inappropriate, to say the least.
The section on the Siegfried legend is similarly lacking in explanation. That said, the old black-and-white film and the sword on display are genuinely interesting—but again, there’s no context provided to help visitors understand their significance.
Then, suddenly, there’s a reptile zoo. The animals are healthy and beautiful, but the enclosures are very small, and there’s minimal information. There’s also no connection made between this section and the earlier exhibits.
In the end, the whole visit felt awkward and confusing—and left me wondering about the mindset behind the curation. The careless and misleading portrayal of the swastika is particularly troubling. I don’t recommend it at all."
