Reviews Summary
Visitors find the Historisches Museum Hannover offers a glimpse into the city's past, with the 'Hannover Kiosk' providing a modern interactive element. However, the significant lack of English translations for exhibits is a recurring point of frustration for international tourists, and ongoing renovations can limit access to certain collections.
"Hannover history museum is currently being renovated so I believe the first floor’s almost half the section was closed as of November 2019.
The collection itself was mediocre at best. Description seems to be entirely in German so as a tourist the most you can do is “look” at those pieces. And honestly the museum seemed dead and empty.
From my experience, the most interesting room’s pieces weren’t allowed to be photographed so that was bit of a bummer.
Overall this museum isn’t something you really have to visit during your stay in Hannover hence I wouldn’t recommend anyone to actually pay and go in.
Yes perhaps on Fridays when it’s free you might want to casually check it out before dinner or something since it’s centrally located."

"I didn't like this museum. The exhibition is very small and not very interesting (see photos)
You will not see many exhibits here. There are just the dates with explanation.
Everything is in German language. I think it should be translated and given also in English, for tourists.
I have been here on Friday, when the entrance is free"

"Nothing open. Plus no English translation anyway which is ridiculous as the first King George of england is from there, you would have thought that the museum board would have English translation as this area of Germany could be a Mecca for lovers of the royal family."
