Reviews Summary
Schirn Kunsthalle is praised for its excellent modern and contemporary art exhibitions and its friendly, helpful staff. Visitors appreciate the detailed curatorial texts that enhance their understanding of the art. Some reviews mention initial confusion with exhibition entry and orientation, and the temporary relocation information could be clearer for some.
"Was lucky to visit the retrospective of Hans Haacke there during its last week. The overall impression is very good: detailed and non-obvious curatorial texts and extremely friendly and nice staff. Would be coming back when I’m in Frankfurt."
Emil Milushev
"Great modern art museum with changing exhibitions. I enjoyed the current exhibition of Carol Rama (1918-2015), a pioneering Italian woman artist who only got recognized late in life. Rama definitely had a her own style although her triptych reminded me of Francis Bacon (1909-1992). Her artworks included both figurative and abstract works. The artist lived her entire life in Turin."
Nils Paellmann
"Due to renovation, The Schirn will move temporarily to Bockenheim. The location at Römerplatz will be closed until 2027. New temporary address: Zeppelinallee 13. Wish could give no stars for poor information about its closure."
