What Travellers Say
Reviews Summary
Ostpark Frankfurt is a beloved large public park offering a peaceful natural escape with a scenic pond, playgrounds, and ample space for recreation. Visitors appreciate its free entry, accessibility, and suitability for families and outdoor activities like picnics and BBQs. However, some note issues with goose droppings and occasional concerns about safety in the evenings due to the presence of homeless individuals.
"One of the largest parks in Frankfurt, offering something for everyone. There’s a beautiful pond with islands that serve as a habitat for cormorants, plus plenty of other animals and bird species to spot. The park has a huge open area for barbecues and picnics, two large playgrounds, and sometimes even small football goals set up.
A kiosk on-site provides drinks and snacks, and the arboretum-like section with trees from all over the world is especially lovely. Overall, it’s a wonderful place to relax and spend time outdoors. Unfortunately, the city made the questionable decision to build a homeless shelter right at the park’s edge, which can make the area feel unsafe in the evenings."

"Nice decent park. Grill zones are at one end, lots of empty field for playing, toilet facilities though could increase in number. Small kids play area is also present
All in all a well spent day."

• Wheelchair-friendly, good paths and bridges
• Educational garden (Bürgergarten) and skyline views
⚠️ Cons:
• Goose droppings often litter lawns and paths
• Grilling crowds on weekends lead to trash and noise
