"Amazing and climatic ruins with amazing vista and many places inside to walk through and see. As you walk and imagine how the castle looked back in the past, it seems even more impressive.
The road is easy to go with sneakers. There is a view at the Eisenberg castle (several minutes away walking), equally amazing.
Before the forest entrance, on the east, there is a restaurant - also a nice place to grab a beer with the Alps vista before (or after) the way."

"Nice view from the top, still i liked Eisenberg better. Park at the restaurant for easy access"

"Hohenfreyberg Castle together with Eisenberg Castle directly opposite, forms a castle group in the southern Allgäu that is visible from a long way off. It is located about four kilometres north of Pfronten in the county of Ostallgäu. The late mediaeval hilltop castle was abandoned during the Thirty Years’ War and set on fire. From 1995 to 2006 the former aristocratic seat was comprehensively made safe and conserved as part of a closely observed "example of renovation". (Wikipedia)
Both Castles are easy to reach, just around 60mins by feet from the Weizern-Hopferau Train Station. The Atmosphere is very particular, goth, decadent, romantic, from each castle you get a nice view of the other castle, you can walk everything by feet, since all the ceilings fell down there is probably nothing to fear of anymore, but be careful anyways. Very beautiful place! Definitely recommended!"
