"The main cemetery is more like a large park. It's a peaceful place to stroll.
There's a small playground for children, wide paths, and plenty of green spaces. There's something to discover everywhere. Wheelchair users and parents with strollers can relax here.
The only pity is that there's only one restroom right at the entrance."
Evelina Viertel
"Overall, the “green lung” of the east of Dortmund is a successful symbiosis of cemetery and park with beautifully landscaped botany and interesting architecture. Both a place of remembrance for beloved, deceased relatives and a local recreation area. Impressively large stands of trees and lots of green spaces line a huge network of paths that are ideal for long walks. The new cycle path, which runs parallel to the outer ring path of the cemetery, is a real asset. Starting at Brackeler Linde, in the woods above the car park at the Leni-Rommel-Straße side entrance, along the second side entrance near the war memorial, you can easily reach the mourning halls at the main entrance on Gottesacker, both on two wheels and on foot."
