"The entrance was free. There were closets to store backpacks and jackets without any cost.
There were exhibition and museum for visiting. Also there is a rooftop to access a nice view of the city. The staff were nice.

There was also a cinema on the ground floor which I didn't visit but I think only for that you need a ticket."

A Symbol of Transformation: From Brewery to Cultural Hub

The Dortmunder U-Tower stands as a testament to Dortmund's industrial heritage and its vibrant transformation into a modern cultural center. Originally built between 1926 and 1927 for the Union Brewery, it served as a crucial facility for fermentation and storage. After the brewery's closure in 1994, the iconic tower was preserved due to its landmark status, while surrounding buildings were demolished. This foresight allowed for its rebirth as a dynamic hub for arts, creativity, and discourse. Instagram

Since its extensive renovation and reopening in 2008, the Dortmunder U has become a focal point for creative science and culture. It now houses institutions like the Museum Ostwall, offering a public space for research, study, and engagement with contemporary art, media, and culture. The building's unique architecture, blending its industrial past with modern artistic expression, makes it a visually striking destination. Instagram

Visitors can experience a diverse range of offerings, from art exhibitions and performances to a cinema and culinary establishments. The iconic 'U' atop the tower remains a powerful symbol, visible from afar and representing the city's enduring spirit and its embrace of innovation. TikTok
