What Travellers Say
Reviews Summary
Visitors rave about the spectacular 360-degree views from the Burg Klopp tower, calling it a must-see for its panoramic vistas of the Rhine valley and Bingen. The free access to the tower and the pleasant park and playground areas are also frequently praised, making it a great spot for families and photographers alike. Some minor drawbacks include limited information in English and potential access limitations due to its administrative function.
"Visible from many parts of the city, castle Klopp is dominating the panorama of Bingen!
Unfortunately not accessible for visitors as this place serves as Bingen administrative center, however the beautiful small yard provides a very cozy place for relaxation. The castle tower is open to the public, free of charge and provides a 360 degree view of Bingen and confluence or Naha and Rhine rivers. Boards with information are located on the last floor right under the roof, however available only in German.
There are two ways to reach the castle - walking from the parking lot, conveniently located only 2 minutes from the castle, or walking from down the city which takes a bit of physical activity as there are several staircases and platforms to pass. It is a nice walk, especially thanks to the water features located at the start of the staircase, however there are no great views of the city (the best views are from the top of the tower).
There is a restaurant located at the premises of the castle with nice outdoor seating offering views to Bingen and vineyards opposite the Rhine river. Playground with slides for kids and a beautiful park surrounds the northwestern corner of the castle. Visited in August 2022."

"This is a public building now, so it's free to visit and explore. The tower is really cool, and offers great views of Bingen and the vineyards of Rude shim across the river. Must see if you're in this Rhine River valley area."
