What Travellers Say
Reviews Summary
Visitors rave about the stunning, historic architecture of Stadtbad Neukölln, describing it as a beautiful and unique place to swim and relax. The affordable entry and pleasant atmosphere are frequently praised. However, some guests note that the water can be a bit cold and the lane organization during peak hours can be chaotic for serious lap swimmers.
"I’ve been swimming at Stadtbad Neukölln for about a year and a half now — first as an individual visitor and now through my Urban Sports Club subscription, which allows me to visit regularly.
The building itself is absolutely beautiful — the architecture and atmosphere are unique, making every swim feel special. The facilities are clean, the water temperature is pleasant, and the staff is generally kind and professional. It’s a great neighborhood swimming pool with a lot of potential to be excellent.
However, there’s one recurring issue that unfortunately affects the overall swimming experience: the lane organization.
Although the pool has four marked lanes, they are almost always merged into two larger ones, and often one lane is reserved for classes. This leaves only one single lane and one large merged area for everyone else.
Merging two lanes into one big “rectangle” might seem practical, but in reality, it creates chaos during peak hours. Fast swimmers can’t train properly, slower swimmers feel pressured, and everyone ends up swimming one behind the other without enough space to move freely.
In many pools I’ve been to in other countries, each lane has a clear purpose — for example:
• One lane for slow swimmers without equipment
• One for slow swimmers with equipment
• Two lanes for faster swimmers (with and without equipment)
This clear structure makes it possible for everyone to enjoy their swim at their own pace without collisions or frustration.
I would strongly recommend keeping all four lanes separate and assigning them clearly by speed and equipment use, especially during rush hours. This small change would make a huge difference for regular swimmers who want to train more effectively and for everyone to have a more enjoyable and respectful swimming experience.
This is truly a nice place, and I hope management considers improving lane organization."

"A fantastically ornate Schwimmbad in the centre of Neukölln. €3.60 entry as students and very quiet in the bath (10:30-16:00) only around 5-10 people sharing the pool. Would highly recommend. Well kept, super clean and staff friendly. Water was a little cold, but got used to it. Child friendly"

"Great experience. Quite big, as it has two swimming halls—a small and a large one. It's the oldest in Berlin, but unlike Charlottenburg, the facilities are far better.
It looks like an ancient Roman bath, with large and long pillars and a great mosaic interior. One might spend the first 10 minutes wandering the underbelly!
One thing I noticed is that the water was a little murky, and the changing rooms are a little clumsy. Besides that, everything was fine."
