Kater Blau is celebrated for its unique, unpretentious atmosphere and a strong techno music scene, enhanced by a no-photography policy that fosters authenticity. While many praise the music, sound systems, and safe-space vibe, some visitors note the challenging door policy, extra fees for storage, and a perceived increase in commercialization over time.

"I was there on Friday night. We queued like 1 hours from 23. even tho we got tickets online already.(you have to download an app to get QR code).
Then they charge at storage for each piece! So for both my jacket and backpack, they asked me for 5 euros. I was shocked. No where in Berlin like this.
Plus they charge you 10 euros if you lose your number. Come on! People don’t lost their number on purpose! This charge will make them feel much more worse afterwards. I lost mine once when I was in KitKat, they just nicely helped me get my things back.
And for that small place there are way too much people. No matter where are you standing in the dance floor there are someone passing by every two minutes.
I generally feel katerblau changed a lot (more and more commercial)compared to two years ago the first time I visited.
Personally I won’t go back again."

The Kater Blau Experience: More Than Just a Club
The club boasts both an indoor techno club with powerful sound systems and expansive outdoor spaces. The riverside terrace offers a more relaxed setting for socializing and enjoying the Berlin nightlife. Many describe it as a safe space, similar in vibe to the neighboring Holzmarkt 25, where diverse individuals can come together. The music is predominantly techno, with DJs spinning all night long, making it a pilgrimage site for electronic music aficionados.
However, it's important to be aware of practicalities. The door policy can be selective, even for those with tickets, and arriving early is often recommended. Additionally, there are storage fees for belongings, and a significant penalty if you lose your storage number, which some visitors found surprising compared to other Berlin clubs. Despite these points, many still laud Kater Blau as a top club in Berlin for its music, atmosphere, and the freedom it offers.
Navigating Kater Blau's Door and Fees
Once inside, be mindful of the additional costs. Kater Blau charges for coat and backpack storage, and there's a notable fee if you happen to lose your storage number. This aspect has been pointed out by some as being more expensive than at other Berlin clubs. While the club aims to provide a seamless experience, these fees are a practical consideration for budgeting your night out. The music and atmosphere, however, are often described as worth the effort and cost for many attendees.
