What Travellers Say
Reviews Summary
Badeschiff Berlin offers a unique floating pool experience on the Spree, praised for its innovative concept, beach bar atmosphere, and scenic views. However, some visitors find the strict booking system, rigid time slots, and rules to be overly bureaucratic and detract from the overall enjoyment.
"Highly Regulated and Not So Fun:
If you're looking for a relaxing day at the pool, this isn't it. This place feels less like a fun day out and more like a highly regulated, bureaucratic "German experience." While the pool itself is impressive, the strict rules and a frustrating booking process take all the enjoyment away.
The biggest issue is the extremely limited access. You can only purchase tickets online exactly two days in advance, and you're locked into a rigid 1.5-hour time slot. If you're hoping to swim more than that, you're out of luck. The system is so strict that you can't even enter before your designated time.
Once you're finally in, you'll find even more restrictions. The water is surprisingly cold, and you're not allowed to take photos from the pool deck—for no stated reason. It feels like they've gone out of their way to make the entire experience as restrictive as possible.
Overall, the beautiful pool is completely overshadowed by the complex rules and lack of flexibility. It's a shame, because it could be a great place. But in its current state, it's simply not worth the hassle."

"Brilliant day out in Berlin! Enjoyed the pool, was cold but great to cool off in the sun. Excellent value at €8 for a two hour slot. Book your slot in advance. No drinks allowed to be taken in but there’s a bar with all drinks and food available. It was a lot bigger than we thought, with a hammock area, plenty deck chairs and sand, like a beach to sunbathe. Would recommend to anyone going to Berlin who likes swimming or a one off experience! X"

"Expensive !!!!! I can understand how after corona they understood how much money they can make when they limit the time . But 8€ for 2 hours !?!?( I would make it 4 hours stay minimum ) That's not cool . Besides it's great location and super lovely it's on the spree. Could see how as a privet events location it's amazing. Drinks are regular Berlin 2025 prices . Letting people bring their own water should be allowed in summer it's hot and it's important to stay hydrated"

👨👩👧 Families with Kids
It's essential to book tickets well in advance, especially if you're planning a family visit during peak times. Remember that outside food and drinks are not allowed, so factor in the cost of purchasing refreshments from the on-site bar. The mandatory shower before entering the pool is also something to prepare children for.
💰 Budget Travelers
To maximize your budget, consider packing your own water bottle (though you can't bring it inside, you can refill it after your swim) and focus on enjoying the atmosphere and the swim rather than extensive food purchases. Weekday visits might also offer a slightly less crowded experience without an additional cost.
