What Travellers Say
Reviews Summary
Anti is praised for its stunning minimalist design and deeply restorative wellness offerings like gong baths and saunas, creating a unique oasis in Berlin. However, some visitors find the experience uneven, citing issues with organization, maintenance, and staff helpfulness, which can detract from the intended serene atmosphere.
"A very special place that’s soothing for the soul. I visited Jeena’s Gong Bath meditation and had a unique experience. It was the best I’ve done so far and I do them regularly. Her technique, the vibe of the place and the whole energy allowed me to connect with my body and myself deeper. Thank you for this wholesome and re-connecting time. ❤️ A real oasis in the heart of Berlin… can’t wait to come again!!"

"Beautiful design, but the devil is in the details.
I’ve visited Rite sauna and Anti classes totally four times this week and it was mediocre with lots of expectations, but poor experience
The whole experience of the space feels clunky and uneven. You cannot smoothly transition from space to space. You always meet some people on the way, the floor is slippery, or you cannot pass certain areas because they are too narrow, too dark. Moving around feels awkward rather than natural.
The community space is also nicely designed, but poorly maintained. Tea is always run out, snacks are always run out. You cannot relax because you’re constantly hunting for a clean glass. The same clutter is around for a week
The organisation and support from the people behind the counter are also frustrating. They’re not really helpful and don’t properly explain anything, jut serving the coolest kids of the area.
Storage and changing rooms are overcrowded and smell like cheese. On top of that, the light in this area is so dim that when you’re getting ready, you cannot see the clothes, you cannot see what you put or what you locked in the wardrobe. Not even talking about doing makeup.
No soap. No shampoo. No balm.
After the sauna, you go to the changing room and want to dry your hair. What you get are two fans. One smells like burning hair. The other one is just blowing cold air, not hot. (Dyson replica, by the way)
There is only one toilet available for like 50 people. There is another one, but it’s busy, and you cannot use it because it’s blocked by a workout session that’s going on.
The sauna was women-only, but some random dude came and was welcomed. Also some male stuff was passing by during the session.
What was important for me were the tutors. And the use of the tutors was no more than the use of a YouTube stream. They were not really engaging with the audience, just saying the script.
Oh, and the sound of falling ice is disturbing"

The Anti Experience: More Than Just a Gym
Beyond the visual appeal, Anti offers a range of specialized activities. Gong bath meditations are frequently mentioned as a deeply restorative practice, allowing participants to connect with themselves on a profound level. Similarly, sauna and ice bath sessions are lauded for their revitalizing effects, providing a wholesome way to de-stress and boost well-being. The integrated Matcha Bar further enhances this focus on wellness, offering a tranquil spot to relax and refuel.
However, the 'Anti' experience isn't universally praised. Some visitors find the execution of the concept to be uneven. Criticisms include awkward transitions between spaces, poorly maintained community areas (like running out of tea or snacks), and unhelpful staff. The changing rooms and showers have also received negative feedback regarding overcrowding and dim lighting. This suggests that while the vision is strong, the operational details can sometimes detract from the intended serene experience.
Navigating the Community and Staff
Conversely, some guests have reported less positive interactions, describing staff as unhelpful or giving the impression of catering only to a select group. This inconsistency in service can impact the feeling of inclusivity. It's worth noting that the 'coolest kids' comment suggests a perception of exclusivity that might not align with everyone's expectations of a community wellness space.
For those seeking a truly integrated experience, understanding the community dynamics and staff interactions is important. While many find the environment welcoming and supportive, others have encountered friction. Being prepared for a potentially varied experience based on staff presence and the day's crowd can help manage expectations.
