"We went with 3 persons to Hirschgarten Restaurant, weather was nice, so we sit outside. As this restaurant is in the middle of the forest, its a nice location were and you can see a herd of deer (“Hirsch”) at 10 m distance! The restaurant offers traditional food from this area, which is really appreciated and typical Hessian style (others ordered and praised the Grüne Soße dish or Handkäse mit Musik).
We ate a large game platter for 3 people, with deer, wild boar and other things...it was delicious!
Friendly and professional staff, fast service on top of it, give you a nice experience. Clear recommendation!
BTW: They serve König Pilsener (KöPi) beer, alone this is really nice!"

"This restaurant is very nice and located just at the hearth of nature. It is built into the old hunting reserve of Bad Homburg. From its terrace you can actually still see the amazing deers that are still kept into the reserve (although they are not hunted anymore). The restaurant is very well decorated. It is surely recommended to go there in spring or summer to enjoy the lovely terrace. The menu is quite varied and the specialties are mostly around deers' meat. However, the quality of food and the finessing of the cooking are not always at top level. The staff is very friendly and amicable. However, if you go there in peak hours the service tends to slow down a bit too much. Overall, I liked the restaurant and I think I will definitively come back. PS: outside the restaurant - apart from the deers - you can also enjoy a minigolf match in a very well maintained course."
