What Travellers Say
Reviews Summary
Visitors rave about the spectacular, almost deserted landscapes of Mravaltskaro Rainbow Hills, highlighting the unique beauty of the rainbow-colored mountains and the serene reservoir hike. The main drawbacks are the challenging gravel road requiring a suitable vehicle and the complete lack of facilities, necessitating thorough preparation with water and snacks.
"Easy ride on rather well preserved gravel road with spectacular views. We did not go off-road full length, opting for relaxing hike for about 4kms before getting to the rocks. Once you reach the reservoir via elevated, parallel trail, follow it to its end and pass the slope, to reach the destination."

"very beautiful but set google location for Udabno and David Gareja monastery"
Ankita Mangla
"Beautiful and almost deserted landscapes.
From the useful lifehacks:
1. There is no infrastructure nearby(no drinking water, no stores)
2. The road is not asphalted. There are places with a sharp descent. To go by car like "jeep" or jeep.
3. wear hiking shoes and you can take trekking poles.
4. In the desert it is hotter by a couple of degrees than in Tbilisi (if you start from it).
5. You may meet a white local alabai. He is friendly. But the rule in hiking: do not feed and do not pet. If you really want to thank your traveling companion, then only near the car. But treat optimally normal food (not salty sausages). The dog will feel bad.
If you will be there till the middle of April, you can go to Udabno village. There are nice cafes and restaurant. And a little behind it almond fields (but blossom until mid-April usually)."
