What Travellers Say
Reviews Summary
Visitors praise Kobuleti Nature Reserve Ispani Mire for its beautiful, thriving natural environment and abundant wildlife, particularly frogs and dragonflies. The serene atmosphere and stunning sunset views are frequently highlighted. However, the heavily worn-out visitor infrastructure and muddy, waterlogged paths require visitors to be well-prepared with waterproof footwear.
"Beautiful nature reserve, all the better for being slightly neglected - nature is thriving here. We visited in August so not many birds, but many frogs and dragonflies. We had just had heavy rain so had to wade through water to get to the boardwalk area, waterproof sandals recommended! There were some workers repairing the paths though."
Simon Treanor
"Ramsar protected wetland is over 700ha large and quite impressive. The visitor infrastructure is heavily worn out so do not expect your feet to stay dry or to be able to read all the info, the nature is definitely the winner and Kobuleti invests now into turists in the town. Proudly elsewhere presented view tower is a ruin and large puddle next to it well protects the access to the national park wooden paths. Therefore you are likely to be the only one visiting though about 500m away there and is a sea resort area packed with people."
Bela Kroupova
"Listen to the music of frogs, enjoy bird and turtles watching. Absolutely gorgeous piece of nature but don't go there after the rain: too muddy."

Despite its ecological significance, the visitor infrastructure at Ispani Mire is described as heavily worn out. Many visitors report having to wade through water to reach or navigate the boardwalks, with some areas becoming large puddles. This has led to recommendations for waterproof sandals or boots. The 'view tower' mentioned in some descriptions is noted as being a ruin, further indicating the rustic nature of the facilities.
While the worn-out infrastructure might be a drawback for some, it also means that you might find yourself as one of the few visitors, offering a sense of solitude and an intimate connection with nature. The focus here is truly on the natural environment, so embracing the slightly wild conditions is part of the adventure.
