"Magical place with all the kinds of unspoiled nature - mountains, forests, alpine meadows, glaciers, mountain rivers, waterfalls, lakes - you name it; it's better reserve a couple of days to explore at least main nearby attractions. Cellular connection is sporadic, especially, in the mountain areas. Some tracks are properly marked, some are less so."

"Gorgeous area! We made the Mestia - Ushguli hiking trip in 4 days in June. Unbelievable nature, villages and people. Like you are getting back in time. There are parts of the trip with steep climbs or crossing river on horseback but it is pure fun. Plenty of guesthouses are in the villages with nice people offering unique local experience and foods. Don't forget your sun lotion or all your basic things in your backpack otherwise no chance of buying anything in the villages but beer, water, coke and sometimes chocolate. Be prepared before you start hiking in the Svaneti area."
Gergely Nagy
"Beautiful outlook on the gorgeous mountains of the Svaneti region. It's a very steep uphill hike to the lakes but the view is a real privilege to witness."
