Reviews Summary
Visitors praise LaM for its impressive Art Brut collection and significant modern art pieces, finding the museum a calm and enjoyable experience. While some artworks may be unconventional, the overall atmosphere and the pleasant cafe contribute to a worthwhile visit. The location requires some travel, but many find it easily accessible via public transport.
"Okay, this has some 'big hitters' Picasso, Braque, etc. But the really interesting thing is the story of Art Brut, which is explained during the exhibition of the permanent collection. I didn't get it all, but isn't that the point?
Be warned though, some pictures in the museum contain ladies breasts, uncovered. Google won't allow me to show images of these and if these will offend you probably best not to go.
It is well worth a visit but both the Palais in Lille and the Piscine in Roubaix are more accessible in multiple senses."

"It is a really nice museum. The temporary exhibitions were the main attraction.
They also spoke English, which was a big +.
It is a bit far away, so you need to take either a bus and metro, or a car."
Andrei Burlacu
"Very nice experience in Lille on a hot day. Calm and not too many people. There's a restaurant that we ignored. We visited the permanent exhibition only which was very impressive. There are lockers for your stuff."
