What Travellers Say
Reviews Summary
Visitors rave about the breathtaking panoramic views from Hohneck summit, describing them as some of the most beautiful they've ever seen. The diverse hiking trails, ranging from easy to technical, are a major highlight, as is the chance to spot chamois. Some find the summit eatery a convenient and pleasant stop.
"This is most likely on of the most beautiful hikes I ever did.
What I strongly recommend is starting (and therefore finishing) at the summit (there's a good enough eatery up there with quite good beer)..and it'll add about 3 km to the full hike.
The rest is a 16 km tour going around the ridges to the shores of the different lakes...The course itself varies from easy going paths to quite technical terrains (quite rocky terrains... and the way we did it... was end up with a really steep uphill ... absolutely brilliant.
That's for the exercise part... what's left to say... how beautiful it all was.... breathtaking.
One final word to mention the memorial at the top dedicated to the 4th Regiment of Tunisian Tirailleurs ...look it up if you're a history buff."

"Amazing views, lots of interesting walks...we did a circular walk to the lake or reservoir....boys (11 and 9 years) loved it too....We saw a lot of the paragliding!!"
