What Travellers Say
Reviews Summary
Visitors find the EOL Centre Éolien to be an educational experience, particularly for its informative videos and interactive displays, and especially for French-speaking children. The free rooftop terrace is a major highlight, offering stunning panoramic views of the Loire River and Saint-Nazaire port. However, some guests feel the exhibition itself is brief and potentially overpriced given the lack of large physical exhibits.
"Visited the EOL Centre éolien (wind turbine museum). Should have gone to the Submarine instead, but we’d reserved tickets in advance which somehow required we attended at a specific time. Hence quite a rush and hassle to get there. The museum captured our interest for about 5 mins. I was expecting/hoping to see an actual wind turbine Nacelle or some other large and impressive displays. Actually it’s just a bunch of videos and info panels. Rather expensive for what would otherwise be free almost anywhere else. Give it a miss and just go up to the roof and view the Loire instead."

"Great, really enjoyed it.
It must have taken a very special person to operate a submarine, we were claustrophobic after only a few minutes.
Fair comment made previously regarding the tickets and location of the sub', we were staying at the Holiday Inn so the walk did not matter but if you have travelled just to visit the sub' it is better to drive to the other side to visit the exhibit."

"Ok for children who speak and read French.
There are no displays of actual wind turbine hardware, just videos and a few interactive items. We were done in just 15 minutes.
The roof offers a (free!) view of the nearby wind turbine factory, but do bring binoculars."
