Planning Your Visit

Timing is Key for a Relaxing Visit

Avoid peak times like weekends and school holidays to truly unwind. Arriving on a weekday afternoon can offer a more tranquil experience, though even then, popular spots can get crowded. Consider visiting during off-season months for the best chance at a serene escape.

Book Ahead & Pack Smart

While on-site ticket purchase is possible, booking online can save time, especially during busier periods. Remember to bring your own swimwear, as it's required for all pools. Some reviews suggest bringing extra towels if you plan on extensive sauna use.

Reviews Summary

Thermes de Saint-Gervais is praised for its beautiful natural setting, soothing thermal waters, and well-equipped facilities, including a relaxing tea room. Visitors appreciate the therapeutic benefits and the overall tranquil atmosphere. However, some reviews mention issues with overcrowding during peak times, leading to a less serene experience, and occasional service inconsistencies.

"It's a 20 minute walk from the St Gervais Fayat station through the town and thermal parc. Easy to find. Or from St Gervais les Bains there is a free funicular down into the thermal Parc and the Thermes is a two minute walk. Large car psrk if you are driving. By the river which is good for a walk before or after visiting the baths. Spent three hours here on a quiet Thursday afternoon. We had the flotation massge which was excellent. The spa pools, steam and forest experience were perfect. The tea room was ideal after doing the full circuits. Well organised, gown and small towel included. Lockers to keep your belongings safe and hairdryers in the changing rooms. Staff were very helpful and informative. A fabulous place to unwind."

"I had a great experience. Only a 1-hour drive from Geneva by car. The facility has its private valley between mountains, smelling of sulfur, with a clean and tranquil environment. I paid 49 Euros for entrance + 6 euros for slippers. They provide you with a bathrobe and a towel. To get away from all the noise of the city and modern life, it was a perfect getaway. They also provide tea and small snacks free of charge to unwind after a spa day. The employees are dedicated and really taking care of the facility. Thank you!"

"My wife and I visited the spa on a wet Saturday afternoon in early September. We live locally and for Christmas I had given my wife a multi-day pass which we were using for the second of five entries. It is hard to imagine when might be a good time to visit. Obviously not ski season or school holidays, So we thought September might be OK. By OK I mean not overcrowded. But we were wrong. By 3/4pm the management have issued far more robes than there are hooks on which to hang them ! The place is poorly managed. Men wear loose shorts that result in excess water deposited in the saunas where the benches soon become soaked and therefore the small individual towels issued for use in the sauna are soon wet. The saunas themselves (3) are quite small. They are OK when its not busy, but on our most recent visit the ambiance was ruined by people struggling to gain entry to the cabins partly due to their size in relation to the small doorways and cabin design, and because the subsequent heat loss makes even the hottest cabin a disappointment. The cabins themselves are nice, but they are unsuited to accommodating large numbers of people in 2025 where people have become larger. This is no criticism of larger people because I am above average size. The cabins are not integral to the site. They would be easy to replace. This business is clearly very popular with both locals and visitors. In my opinion the business is in need of a rethink. Given its popularity and presumed profitability the client facilities are grossly inadequate for the volume of customers granted entry. There is significant scope for renovation and improvement throughout. This includes refreshment bar which during past visits has been stock with more than just breadsticks, apples and modest beverages.

I advise taking note of the congestion in the shoes deposit area. On our visit it was not possible to tie ones shoes laces without risking contact with the groin of a fellow visitor trying to identify an empty pigeon hole for their shoes. Tip - if the shoes storage is already 80% full. Don't waste your entry fee. Come back another day.

Needless to say I will not be repeating the purchase of a multi-day entry pass once this one has expired.

It’s a great shame."
