"beautiful old building !"

Sophia Ricard

"When strolling through the old town of Pézenas, you almost inevitably pass the Hôtel de Lacoste – and it's definitely worth stopping for a moment to admire the historic facade 🏛️😊

The building dates back to the 15th century and is one of the best-preserved townhouses of this period. Particularly interesting: On April 6, 1660, the Prince of Conti, then Governor of Languedoc, was received here, and later also the court of King Louis XIV 👑. Between 1808 and 1900, the house also served as the seat of a literary circle – so there's a lot of history within these walls 📖.

Today, the building no longer has anything to do with a hotel. Instead, it houses an art gallery and a small, modern clothing store. The mix of historic architecture and modern use is quite charming – especially because many elements, such as the vaulted ceiling and the stone facade, are well preserved.

✅ Historic building with an impressive facade
✅ Centrally located in the old town
✅ Now a gallery and boutique
⛔ No access to other rooms or courtyard for visitors

A beautiful example of Pézenas' rich history and definitely worth a visit while strolling through town. Just stop for a moment and take a look at the details – it tells a lot about the town's past."
