"Visited on a Sunday afternoon in August so traffic backed up on the causeway road but easy enough to find a parking space, which are all free. 2 mins walk to get on the beach where it's easy to find a big bit of space to yourself. Beach is mostly pebbly sand but flat, however, no food outlets nearby.
Views are beautiful but you covered in huge amounts of dried seaweed. It dries to you and your stuff and ends up coming home in the car!"

"Long and nice sandy beach. Parking spot available on the road behind. In the summer there is a cute train that takes you there (rolls on wheels). I visited in May so the water was a bit cold for my taste, but saw a few people surfing. There are a few good spots for that."

"Great beach, not very crowded, clear turquoise water!"

The Allure of Almanarre: More Than Just a Beach
However, a significant characteristic of Almanarre is the presence of dried seaweed. While some find it a natural part of the environment, others note it can cover large areas of the beach and dry onto belongings. Travelers suggest bringing a bag to collect it and perhaps rinsing off afterward. Despite this, the overall sentiment is overwhelmingly positive, with many praising the beach's beauty and tranquility. The lack of nearby food outlets means visitors should come prepared with their own provisions, turning it into a perfect spot for a picnic with a view.
For those seeking an active beach experience, Almanarre is a paradise. The consistent wind makes it a hub for water sports, and the vibrant scene of surfers and kiters adds to the dynamic atmosphere. Even if you're not participating, watching the skilled athletes navigate the waves is a spectacle in itself. The beach's accessibility, with free parking and a charming summer 'train,' further enhances its appeal as a must-visit destination on the French Riviera.
Navigating Almanarre: Practicalities for a Perfect Visit
When it comes to amenities, it's important to note that no food outlets are located directly on the beach. This means packing a picnic is essential for a full day of enjoyment. Bring plenty of water, snacks, and a meal to savor with the beautiful coastal backdrop. While the beach is largely sandy, some areas can be pebbly, so comfortable footwear or water shoes might be a good idea for some visitors.
The natural beauty of Almanarre is undeniable, but the presence of seaweed is a recurring theme in visitor feedback. While it's a natural phenomenon, it can accumulate. Travelers suggest being prepared for this and perhaps bringing a bag to manage it. Despite these minor points, the overall consensus is that Plage de l'Almanarre offers a gorgeous, spacious, and enjoyable beach experience, especially for those who appreciate natural landscapes and water sports.
