What Travellers Say
Reviews Summary
The Institut Giacometti offers an intimate glimpse into Alberto Giacometti's studio, praised by some for its unique atmosphere and focused exhibitions. However, a few visitors find it small and potentially overpriced for the brief experience, with some noting a lack of detailed information and unhelpful staff.
"This place is unfortunately not worth the €9 entrance fee. You won’t stay longer than five minutes unfortunately and there is almost nothing to see,no proper information about the artist and no sense of his world or his genius. I looked at the Google photos and reviews before coming and expected something meaningful but the reality is the complete opposite. I honestly don’t understand why nobody mentions this.
I have seen a major Giacometti exhibition before, and it was unforgettable you leave amazed and wanting to return. Here that feeling doesn’t exist at all. The staff inside ( not the one in the entrance) were also unhelpful and even slightly mocking, which made the visit even more unpleasant.
There is no souvenir shop, the entrance is hard to find, and the whole experience feels empty and overpriced. If this is your first time discovering Giacometti, I recommend skipping this place and visiting one of his real exhibitions instead those are truly worth your time and money."
